Mild Steel Mesh Sheet and Panels
Mild steel mesh is made of low-carbon steel sheet or steel wire. This kind of metal mesh usually has no surface treatment, so it is also called plain steel mesh. Mining screens used in mining industry require excellent wear resistance, so high-carbon steel is usually used for this type of metal mesh.
The materials used to make carbon steel mesh include mild steel S235, S355, ASTM A36, SS400, Q235, Q355, high carbon steel 1065, 1075, 5160, etc.
The main production methods of mild steel mesh are as follows:
- Carbon steel woven wire mesh: a metal mesh woven from carbon steel wires, the mesh openings are generally square.
- Pre-crimp wire mesh: essentially a kind of woven mesh.
- Welded wire mesh: It is composed of a series of parallel longitudinal wires, and the intersection of each parallel and longitudinal wires is resistance welded to form a metal fabric with rectangular meshes.
- Perforated mild steel sheet: A metal mesh with a series of hole patterns perforated on the steel plate by a perforator.
- Expanded steel mesh: Cut and expand a series of incisions on the steel steel sheet or plate to form a metal mesh with diamond openings.
Applications of Carbon Steel Mesh
Carbon steel mesh has a wide range of uses in various industries, such as concrete reinforcement mesh in the construction industry, plaster mesh for external wall insulation; welded fences in airports, gardens, and backyards; chain link fences in football fields; filters in the petrochemical industry; Mine screens in the mining industry; anti-skid walkways in industrial plants.
